A - DSP Amplifier (Digital Signal Processing): Pioneer’s sound professionals tuned the audio system to provide the perfect acoustics for the Chevrolet Equinox. The DSP (Digital Signal Processing) amplifier delivers tight, powerful bass and rich high frequency sounds. In addition, the system controls the timing of sounds to the driver’s ears and makes it possible to hear with precise reproduction. It alters the volume between the right and left speakers and creates a spacious and immersive sound environment for the car.
B - 3.5” Center Speaker: The 3.5” center speaker is only available in the Pioneer Premium Audio System (not available on the base audio system). The center speaker provides accurate and precise reproduction of vocals, bringing you even closer to the artists’ emotion and talent. Feel the artist’s passion. Hear their voices. C - Tweeters: Our engineers took precise acoustic measurements and positioned the tweeters on the front A-pillars so that high frequency sounds are delivered to your ears smoothly. This allows you to hear the high frequencies that add fullness and tension to music’s most elegant sounds—silky jazz vocals, an acoustic guitar’s picking, a piano’s first strike—which lesser audio systems cannot reproduce.
D - Front 6.5” Low-Mid Range Speakers: The front 6.5” low-mid range speakers are located slightly higher than the typical position on the front doors. This creates a larger sound stage at a higher level resulting in the perfect stage for live music.
E - Rear 6.5” Full Range Speakers: The rear 6.5” full range speakers ensure that rear passengers enjoy the same audio experience as the driver and front passenger.
F - 8” Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer: The 8” Dual Voice Coil subwoofer in a 15 liter enclosure supplies a foundation of music that is powerful and rich in bass. The subwoofer is located in the rear corner of the vehicle to produce even more dynamic bass. The bass sound is the energy source in music – You will start the morning listening to the fresh energetic tight bass, which will help you shift from an off-mode to an on-mode. Active Noise Control

Engine noises can be distracting when listening to music or just soaking in some long awaited peace and serenity after a tiring day. The Active Noise Control (ANC) system continuously monitors the cabin for noise disturbance with or without the radio on. It minimizes noise and enables the driver to listen to music more clearly or, with the music off, find that hidden inner solitude.

Front and rear microphones detect noise in the vehicle cabin.
The processor analyzes the noise signal and outputs a cancellation signal.
The cancellation signal is amplified then converted to sound waves produced by the subwoofer to complete the cancellation.
