Pioneer Introduces the Industry's First Audio Video Receivers with Energy Star 3.0 Certifcication

Elite SC-81 and SC-82 Combine Excellent Audio Performance with Energy Star Efficiency

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today introduced the industry’s first Energy Star® 3.0 certified audio video receivers – the Elite® SC-81 and SC-82. Both 7.2-channel receivers offer outstanding audio performance and extremely high power efficiency resulting from Pioneer’s Class D3 amplification technology, which helps make them Energy Star 3.0 certified products. The Elite models are designed to deliver studio quality audio and video output and offer advanced features including ESS SABRE® Premier Audio DACs, 4K 60P Ultra HD compatibility, multi-channel high resolution playback, the recently announced HDMI® 2.0 specification for the highest video signal transfer available, Roku Ready® certification, expanded multi-zone and multi-source management and functionality, and Pioneer’s proprietary iControlAV5 App.

“Pioneer’s Class D3 amplifier technology found in our SC receivers not only produces exceptionally high amounts of simultaneous power but also makes the receivers extremely energy efficient, which is why we were able to achieve Energy Star 3.0 certification,” said Chris Walker, director of AV product planning and marketing for the Home Electronics Division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Energy Star certified audio/video equipment is up to 60% more efficient than conventional models, so our SC-81 and SC-82 receivers provide savings for users and help to preserve the environment by not wasting valuable energy resources.”
